Property Development Is Given Second Chance

Wednesday, July 13, 2011

Eighteen percent of all Florida homes are vacant and that number could grow.

On Monday, Orange County commissioners voted to reconsider a massive new East Orange County development on the Rybolt property. The original plans called for 5,000 new homes. Opponents said this project should not be getting another look so soon.

East Orange County has a number of environmentally sensitive areas with little development, and project opponent Debbie Parrish had hoped to keep it that way.

"Well, I can tell you it's very frustrating and very, very disappointing," said Parrish.
